Our Rave Reviews from Clients

Private Paradise

Upon arrival you will immediately notice the sweet fragrance coming from the nearby plumeria tree and the gardenia shrubs to greet you. The exclusive, private location along with the décor, linens and amenities are first class. Everything is provided from spices and handy wrap to boogie boards, floats and bicycles for your offshore and onshore enjoyment. The sliding glass doors disappear into the walls to let you experience the most incredible sunsets while relaxing by your private pool and outdoor Jacuzzi. There is plenty of family entertainment available: a game station with its own dedicated monitor mounted side by side next to the TV in the kids room, a big screen TV in the master that disappears into its own cabinet and a huge big screen television in the great room with a surround sound audio system to enhance your entertainment experience. The master bathrooms include a whirlpool bath in one master suite and an indoor/outdoor shower in the other master suite with a view the ocean. All large and small appliances are top of the line, as well as an outdoor gas grill/summer kitchen for the gourmet grill chef. The owners are very attentive to your needs and, in the event you need to contact them, they were always immediately accessible. You will truly feel like you are having a vacation of a lifetime at this home. This location gives you the opportunity to enjoy two of the most beautiful beaches in the Hawaiian islands (Hapuna and Mauna Kea Beach) along with their hotels and pools, restaurants and spas which are exquisite. It is a great place to relax and getaway. If you value privacy in a beautiful setting, this is your place.

Wish We Stayed Longer

This place is great, and the price was extremely reasonable for the quality of furnishings and all the amenities. The relaxing views put us at ease from the moment we saw them. I really appreciated the great snorkeling and swimming nearby, and the proximity to all the turtles and mantas was impressive. My wife loved all the markets and because of all the fresh local fruit, we lived on a variety of amazing smoothies. I can't wait to get back and rent some bikes and ride all the routes that the Ironman athletes ride. There's nothing like a quiet ride with stupendous ocean views. This house is awesome, and the location is fantastic!

Paradise at Last

We've traveled to Hawaii several times, staying in an assortment of lodgings from private homes to 5 star hotels. Last month we took our first trip to Kona and we stayed at this AMAZING home. Forget the other homes and hotels! This home has everything you could possibly want or need. It's easily accessible, yet you feel like you have the island to yourself - so peaceful and private. Everything in the home, from appliances to pillows is top quality - extremely clean and polished. The recreation closet is well stocked with all the things you don't want to haul with you when traveling like snorkel gear, beach blankets and outdoor gear. We took advantage of the extra ammenities that included private beach access and golf. Each morning we got up and had a perfect Hawaiian breakfast (you can only get fruit that fresh in Hawaii) in a large, beautiful kitchen that I can only dream to own. After a day in the sun hiking, snorkeling, biking (super wide bike baths), or visiting the coffee plantations, we came home and grilled dinner on the indoor/outdoor lanai, watching in awe as the sun settled over the horizon. We didn't know a lot about the Big Island before this trip to Kona, but one thing is for sure, you want to be selective where you stay. If you want to be in prisitne, clear blue skys versus in the vog (volcanic fog), rain (Hilo side) or cloudy overcast (Kailua Kona), then this Mauna Kea Villa is where you want to stay. Every day was weather perfect. Did I mention the whales? You can see humpbacks blowing water from the lanai. Want a closer look? Drive 5 minutes up the highway. We're done trying to find the perfect vacation getaway...we've found it!

Extended Stay

I fell in love with this Villa. I wish my own home was as beautiful. I loved the big open feel. The kitchen is to die for and has everything you could ever need. The whole front of the house opens up to the backyard with an ocean view. The master bathrooms are out of a magazine. The towels felt like giant cotton balls they were so soft. I slept like a baby in a canopy bed waking up to sunlight and birds. I have been to the island multiple times before but this is the nicest place I have stayed. The location is wonderful. It is close to everything but quiet and private at the same time. There are multiple white sand beaches in walking distance. The resorts are beautiful. I loved the snorkeling, biking, tennis, golf, and other activities right out my door. If you don’t want to eat at the resorts there are great little restaurants by the Kawaihae harbor only a few miles away. Most of the time I felt like staying in!! The lanai is such a great place to watch the sunset. I can't wait to go back. What an incredible experience it totally changed my view of the Big Island.

Luxury Stay

We are a family of 4 and we decided to take our college age children on a trip to Hawaii. This beautiful home was perfect for us. Our son and daughter had their own rooms and bathrooms and my husband and I shared the master. I just checked out the photos and they don't even do the place justice, it is even prettier in person. Everything is immaculate. Loved the sliding doors that made for indoor/outdoor living. We enjoyed coming back to the house after exploring the island and all it had to offer...zip lining, surf lessons, golf, beach time, great restaurants. At night we returned to our own beautiful home with private pool and hot tub. Highly recommend!!!!

Perfect!

We are very experienced world travelers and have visited the islands more than 30 times. We have never been happier with accommodations than we were here. The pictures of this home, the property and the hotels and beaches don't do it justice. The house is extremely well constructed and laid out and we never saw or heard a neighbor. The pool and spa we great. We are very serious cooks and the kitchen couldn't have been better stocked if I'd done it myself. The owners are gracious and we felt well looked after as valued guests not transients passing through .

Yearly trip to the BI

We have been traveling annually to the BI for the past four years for New Years and this was our sixth trip overall. Hands down, this was the best place we have stayed. The owners were very attentive and quick to reply with any and all answers to even the most mundane questions. The house is impeccable. It is something I would own myself and also maintained to the same level I would my own house. We will definitely be back to the BI and this will be our property of choice moving forward. Thanks Karen and Steve for sharing your house. It truly is beautiful.

They've Thought of Everything

What can I add to all the positive reviews other than I agree? This house was the perfect place to return to each night from the days of finding new beaches (69 has the best shade), scuba diving, swimming with dolphins out of Puako, riding horses on Mauna Kea AND enjoying both Mauna Kea and Hapuna Prince beaches. The villa is in better condition than either of the hotels and offered the added convenience of being centrally located so that we could easily enjoy both facilities when we wanted to. As for the house, we're cookers and we loved that we had all the utensils and kitchen appliances we could ever wish for. The small pool was great for evening dips--even for the cooks tending to the grill! Thanks Karen and Steve for being so personally vested in our enjoying your place as much as you do, and for sharing it with us. We cannot thank you nor recommend you enough.

Reality will be very difficult to return to . . . . .

A strong word of caution: residing at the Hapuna Beach Villa has a very high chance of making the rest of life pale in comparison. My wife and I just returned from a 7 day stay on the Big Island. The accommodations we experienced at the Villa were no less than complete luxury. Wonderful sunset views, numerous whale sightings, and a fabulous pool and patio made for a fantastic time outside alone. Inside, the wonderful open kitchen and living space influenced us to enjoy as many meals as we could at the house. Situated on such a wonderful part of the Big Island, we still felt completely accessible to the whole island, and explored every corner during our trip. Wonderful owners and a fantastic property manager capped the experienced off as magnificent. If you are heading to the Big Island, you will be hard pressed to find a better place to stay!

Lovely and Luxurious

We had a wonderful time time! A beautiful home in a beautiful place! The house had everything we needed and more. Our daughter loved the pool and Grandma loved the spa. If the two most beautiful beaches on the island weren't so close, we may have never have left the house. Thank-you Steve and Karen for sharing your wonderful home!

Return to Paradise

We just returned from our second stay at this beautiful home. The owners have continued to improve the offering here and everything was as advertised or better. The Club Membership was very useful, as we used the pool, beach, restaurants and recreatioal activities at the Mauna Kea and Hapuna to the fullest extent. Each family had their own account to use when they picked special activities and meals. We will return here the next time we visit Hawaii. The Big Island has become our favorite destination.

Absolutely Amazing Family Vacation

This beautiful home was everything we could have wished for. The rooms are huge, the kitchen is amazing and well-equipped - right down to the spices and pots and pans, the view is breathtaking, and the management was terrific. There were so many touches that made our vacation extra special, including the beach mats and boogie boards in the garage, the fantastic outdoor barbecue (we actually ate out very little), and the in-home washer and dryer. My family (husband and two children, ages 7 and 9) loved the pool. The pictures are absolutely accurate and I would recommend this rental to anyone. We rotate around three of the islands, but my kids have already decided that when we come back to the Big Island, we have to stay here again. I agree!

Waiulaula Villa

A wonderful property! Excellent design and finishing. Nicely furnished. If you like to self cater you will enjoy the very well equipped kitchen and the grill on the lanai. There is a pretty back yard with flowers in the foreground and expansive views of the ocean and Mount Kohala. We loved the pool and spa. The living room AV system is new and has Apple TV allowing you watch Netflix and play movies or music purchased on iTunes or stored on any apple device you bring with you. For a small fee you can get access to the Mauna Kea and Hapuna Beach hotels, including parking and use of beach towels, pools, lounge chairs etc. We had a wonderful stay and look forward to returning! Owners and local manager do a great job.

Beautiful, Spacious, Everything you Need

This was by far the best place we have rented. My husband and I went with my son and his family and it was perfect. There's so much room we never felt cramped. The bedrooms are huge. We took the master on the opposite side of the house from the other master and bedroom which gave everyone a little bit of feeling of privacy. The kitchen is gigantic, has high end appliances and absolutely everything you need. There are plenty of hotel quality towels. The property has a big back yard and is up on a hill with a great view to the ocean. We sat several times on the bench they provided to watch the sunset. Our only concern going in was having to drive to the beach. This turned out to be a non issue. You think it will be inconvenient to haul all your stuff there but really there's not much difference between loading up your car and driving a couple of miles and carrying everything down from your hotel room. Then when you've had enough beach you get to go back to your big, comfortable house instead of a small hotel room. We've been to Hawaii a dozen or so times and we think the Mauna Kea beach is the best. Not only beautiful but highly usable - good for swimming, snorkeling, paddle boarding, boogie boarding and sometimes even surfing. The amenity program is worth the extra.

Perfection In Paradise

This is a beautiful well maintained house that looks even better than the photos and had everything we needed from spices to snorkeling equipment. Both the owners and the property manager were incredibly lovely to work with and very responsive.

Paradise in Hawaii

If you want to experience paradise, then this is the place for you. Our entire family absolutely loved this beautiful villa. The website photos do not do justice to this immaculate villa. The owners have truly made the villa a place to make you feel welcomed. Upon our arrival, the property manager was there to welcome us and thoroughly explained how to operate the entire household. Our family consisting of 3 adult couples never felt cramped in this spacious unit. Everything you can imagine was there to include a well equipped kitchen to include spices, tableware, plates, etc and outdoor equipment for the beach and a gorgeous grill for the serious griller. It was so relaxing after a busy day at the beach or sightseeing to come to a nice quiet place to prepare a nice dinner with the huge kitchen and then just sit back and view the gorgeous sunsets at the huge lanai or on the bench in the huge backyard. The pool and hot tub were a nice extra touch. The only set-back was having to leave paradise. We cannot thank the owners enough in opening their villa to us to enjoy our vacation. Never a doubt that we will come back to this place.
